Our toffee is made with pure cane sugar, gourmet chocolate, crunchy nuts, and fresh, creamy butter. We've been selling melt-in-your-mouth butter toffee in the central Illinois area since 2001, and through our website we offer our scrumptious candy to the world!

About Us

Once upon a time, a young woman named Audra Martin used a much-loved family recipe to make toffee for her son's teachers. They went so wild over this holiday favorite that they asked Audra to make some for them to give as gifts.With the demand for this delicious, melt-in-your-mouth toffee, A Toffee Tale quickly grew to a successful small business selling at the local farmers' market and in a number of shops throughout the Central Illinois area.

After over a decade of sharing her sweetness, Audra was ready to pass the wooden spoon. To keep the tradition alive in the community, she hand-picked and personally trained her successor, Jodi Prosser-Muller. After learning all she could throughout Audra's final holiday season, Jodi moved the business to Fithian, IL in January of 2013.

She prepares the scrumptious delight in the commercial kitchen of her school! The grade school, built in 1954, served the children of Fithian, IL until 1990. Since then it was briefly an antique toy museum, and was then converted into a residence by a previous owner. Jodi and her family moved into the school in June 2012 and continue the transformation to home, business, and adventureland!

Audra packaged her toffee in reusable and recyclable glass jars. Not only are they beautiful and eliminate the need for gift wrap, but they keep the toffee as fresh and tasty as can be. You can even pop your jar of toffee right in the freezer to stay fresh for up to a year. The company now offers the option of packaging in biodegradable & compostable tin-tie bags with an environmentally-friendly, heat-sealed cello lining.

Throughout all of the company's growth and changes two things remain the same: A traditional family toffee recipe, hand-made with only the highest quality ingredients and heaps of love cooked into every bite; and A Toffee Tale, Inc.'s dedication to being an ecologically responsible corporation that believes the only mark it should leave on the planet is joy!
