The Alma Mater is a statue on the corner of Wright and Green streets on campus and a symbol of the University of Illinois. It is 10,000 pounds and is a mother-figure wearing academic-garb with two attendants. The attendants represent "Learning and Labor," which is the University's motto. The Alma Mater was removed for renovations between Spring of 2012 and 2014.
