Blanche Harris
Born and raised in Champaign, Mrs. Harris is best known as the editor and publisher of Illinois Times, a weekly newspaper well known in the African-American community for many years. Mrs. Harris and her husband, Edgar Harris, published the newspaper out of their home from approximately 1949 to 1967.
