The Urbana Adult Education Center (UAEC) offers free high school, GED, Certified Nursing Assistant, and other adult education courses to community members ages 16 and older. From the UAEC website: “We are proud of the unique educational and career opportunities our programs offer and strive to meet the individual needs of each and every student, at their own pace.”

The goal of this fundraiser is to purchase technology to support students in the adult education courses through increased access and education. In particular, funds raised for this project will support the beginning of a project to update and expand the computing course.

"Currently, the Urbana Adult Education Center offers basic computer classes. In the future, we would like to professionalize our technology curriculum. We want students to learn how to code, we want them to become certified in all Microsoft suite applications, and we want them to become certified Google Education App trainers. In short, we want our technology curriculum to provide students with the standards they need to learn effectively and to live productively in an increasingly global and digital world."
