The Illinois Fire Service Institute Library (IFSI Library) serves the Illinois Fire Service Institute's instructional staff, students, Illinois fire departments and firefighters, and other fire/emergency-related users by providing fire and emergency library and information assistance.

- In-person, telephone, or Internet-based service to IFSI Library patrons
- Storage for the more than 18,000 items in the IFSI Library multi-media collection
- Climate-controlled storage for historical records, photographs, and films that document more than 85 years of fire service training at the University of Illinois
- IFSI Library User Training
- Individual or small group study
- Single presenter lectures in Library Meeting Room
- Workspace for international scholars and researchers studying fire service, emergency management, or library science issues
