The Newman Shares Food Pantry was created in the fall of 2013 as a food pantry exclusively for college students. It is located in the St. John's Catholic Newman Center and is open biweekly on Wednesdays from 5-7 pm. Any students at Illinois or Parkland  and their families can use their food pantry, as long as they bring proof of enrollment at the University. The food pantry has accreditation from the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
