The People's Public Library is a roadside library built by Mike and Maiko Lehman. The library has books for all ages. Genres include fiction, nonfiction, romance, DIY, and many more. The library is free, open 24/7, and no library card is needed.

   Free Little Library

Support from University of Illinois: volunteer librarians and photodocumentation

One past fall students from the U of I library and information science school (GSLIS) volunteered as reference-librarians-in-training on Saturday mornings. In fall 2014 GSLIS students from the course 502 began to document the collection as it changed over the fall (photos below).  In 2015 the same class is continuing that work (see below). The recent pictures show fewer books in the library. Seems like they've been checked out!
