Story
Story Cafe had its soft opening on December 1, 2012 and it grand opening on February 16, 2013. It is owned and operated by Billy and Marcia Angel. Billy is originally from the Netherlands, Billy is a storyteller, singer, musician and script writer, and has performed for the Queen of Holland. Marcia is an occupational therapist with roots in Michigan, and returned after 35 years to open the coffee shop. The couple met in the U.K.
The couple envisions the cafe as a meeting place for the community to tell and hear stories through a variety of art forms including storytelling, song, writing, and the couple's passion--Playback Theatre, and improvisational form of theatre, where a conductor invites the audience to tell true stories that the actors and a musician then play back.
