Restoring The Gardner Chime

History

In 1941 Miss Ellen Gardner placed a twelve bell chime in the tower of Trinity Church in downtown Toledo. The 9.6 tons of bells were dedicated to the memory of her parents and her brothers an sisters.   For over 50 years these bells enhanced the sound scape of Downtown Toledo.   The bells have been silent for 20 years.   The Gardner Bell Restoration Fund using the Old Trinity Foundation (501C3)  is seeking to raise $50,000 to restore this magnificent and irreplaceable  instrument to its original condition.   We are encouraging businesses and individuals to contribute to this fund.  Contributions may be sent for The Gardner Bell Restoration Fund to The Old Trinity Foundation 316 Adams St. Toledo, OH 43604.  All contributions are tax deductible.
