About the park
Walbridge Park is a city park, located along the Maumee River.
History
Walbridge was once much larger than its current size. The 1895 report to the City park commissioners listed the size of Walbridge at 62 acres [1]. In 1888 a midway was opened on Broadway and Amherst, and operated until the fifties although at a reduced size as a majority was destroyed by fire in 1938 [2].
