Walbridge was once much larger than its current size. The 1895 report to the City park commissioners listed the size of Walbridge at 62 acres [1]. In 1888 a midway was opened on Broadway and Amherst, and operated until the fifties although at a reduced size as a majority was destroyed by fire in 1938 [2].
